Korea
HUGE trip to Korea earlier this year. Amazing place and a very special trip for myself personally, meeting my Korean in-laws. Lacy and I went with our travel team - The Boy of course and Grandma Suzi. Daniel met his only living Grandfather aka: Hal-abeoji which was pretty emotional for me because I was super close with my Dad and Pa who aren’t around anymore. It always made me sad that Daniel doesn’t have any Grandfathers on hand to tell him stories or give useless advice on beer making, horse racing and thongs (flip-flops). I skulled some beers with Hal-abeoji and gifted a few photo books of Daniel growing up to him and Halmeoni. Daniel must’ve felt the connection with Hal-abeoji because he went straight to him, which only ever really happened once before with his Uncle Macca. He usually takes a bit longer to warm up to blokes. He definitely connected with Halmeoni but it took a little longer. Daniel and I also met a bunch of other family including Aunties, Uncles and Cousins.
We’re extremely lucky to have family in Korea and to be able to visit them, I am very grateful.
I like to think my pictures aren’t the typical holiday snaps that your friends make you look at but who know’s, maybe they are?
I shot the whole lot on my old Nikon FM2 that I had refurbished for Daniel to use at some point. It works like new now which is pretty exciting so I have it back until Daniel’s hands get bigger. I used 3 or 4 different kinds of film, some B&W and colour, I used my last few rolls of Fuji Pro 400H which was my fave and no longer available - it was worth it.
